Pool Deck Pavers in The Villages, FL

What You Get With Professional Pool Pavers

Your pool deck won’t burn bare feet in July. That’s the first thing you’ll notice with travertine or quality concrete pavers—they stay relatively cool even when the sun’s beating down at 95 degrees.

The second thing? You can actually walk on them after it rains without worrying about slipping. The textured surface gives you traction that smooth concrete never will.

And when Florida’s weather does what Florida’s weather does—expanding, contracting, shifting that sandy soil underneath—your pool deck pavers won’t crack like a concrete slab. Individual pavers flex with the movement. If one ever does get damaged, you replace that one paver. Not the whole deck.

You’re looking at 25 to 30 years of use when the base is done right. That’s not marketing talk—that’s what proper excavation, grading, and compaction gets you. Concrete? You’re looking at major repairs within 10 years. Often sooner in The Villages with our soil conditions.

Pool Paver Contractor in The Villages

Licensed, Authorized, and Local Since 1995

We’ve been installing pool deck pavers in Citrus County and North Central Florida for nearly 30 years. We’re an authorized contractor for Tremron, Belgard, and Flagstone—which means we have access to materials and training most contractors don’t.

We’re also the only Seal ‘n Lock distributor in Citrus County. That matters because sealing is what keeps sand from washing out and weeds from growing up between your pavers. Quality sealant lasts 3 to 5 years. Cheap stuff fails after one season.

This is a family business. We handle permits, we carry state licenses for irrigation and hardscape work, and our crews do the work—no subcontractors. You’ll talk to people who’ve been doing this for decades, not a rotating door of technicians.

How We Install Pool Pavers That Last

The work starts below the surface. We excavate to the right depth, then grade for proper drainage—critical in Florida where we get heavy rain. If water pools on your deck or doesn’t drain away from your pool, you’ll have problems. We make sure that doesn’t happen.

Next is base preparation. We compact the base in layers, not all at once. This is where most shortcuts happen, and it’s also where most failures start. A poorly compacted base will settle, shift, and cause your pavers to sink or separate within a few years.

Once the base is solid, we lay the pavers in your chosen pattern. Tremron, Belgard, and Flagstone all offer different colors, textures, and styles. You pick what works with your home and pool. We install it level, tight, and clean.

After the pavers are set, we apply polymeric sand to lock everything in place, then seal the surface with Seal ‘n Lock. That seals out moisture, prevents staining, and makes maintenance almost nonexistent. You’re not scrubbing or pressure washing every month.

Best Pavers for Pool Deck in The Villages

What's Included in Your Pool Paver Installation

You’re getting a full installation—excavation, grading, base prep, paver layout, polymeric sand, and Seal ‘n Lock application. We pull permits and make sure everything meets code. Our crews handle cleanup when the job’s done.

In The Villages and surrounding areas, travertine is one of the most popular choices for pool decks. It stays cooler than concrete and has natural slip resistance. Belgard and Tremron pavers are also great options if you want more color variety or a specific look.

We’re seeing more homeowners move away from concrete entirely. It cracks too easily in our climate, it gets dangerously hot, and repairs are expensive. Pavers solve all three problems. They’re also easier to match with existing landscaping or outdoor kitchens if you’re adding features later.

The investment makes sense when you factor in longevity. Concrete might be cheaper upfront, but you’ll pay for repairs, resurfacing, or full replacement within a decade. Quality pool pavers in The Villages, FL typically last 25 to 30 years with minimal maintenance. That’s real value.

How much does pool paver installation cost in The Villages, FL?

Cost depends on the size of your pool deck, the type of pavers you choose, and site conditions. Travertine tends to run higher than standard concrete pavers, but it also performs better in Florida heat.

Most pool deck paver projects in The Villages range between $15 and $30 per square foot installed. That includes excavation, base work, pavers, sand, and sealing. If your site has drainage issues or needs significant grading, that can add to the cost.

We don’t give estimates over the phone because every job is different. We’ll come out, measure, assess the site, and give you an accurate number. No surprises later.

Travertine is hard to beat for pool decks in Florida. It stays cooler than concrete or brick, it’s naturally slip-resistant, and it holds up well in our humidity and heat. It’s also easy to replace individual stones if one ever cracks or stains.

Tremron and Belgard both make excellent concrete pavers designed specifically for pool areas. They come in different textures and colors, so you’re not limited to one look. Flagstone is another option if you want a more natural appearance.

Avoid smooth concrete or any surface that gets slippery when wet. Also avoid materials that absorb too much heat—some stones and dark pavers will be uncomfortable to walk on in summer. Stick with proven pool deck materials that are made for Florida’s climate.

Most residential pool deck paver installations take between three and seven days, depending on size and complexity. A small deck around a basic rectangular pool might be done in three days. Larger decks with custom patterns or challenging drainage situations take longer.

Weather can delay things. If we get heavy rain during base prep, we have to wait for the ground to dry before we can compact properly. Rushing that step leads to settling and failure down the road.

We’ll give you a timeline when we scope the job. We don’t overlap projects, so once we start your pool deck, we finish it. You won’t have crews disappearing for days at a time to work other jobs.

Pavers handle Florida’s soil movement and temperature swings much better than poured concrete. Concrete is one solid slab, so when the ground shifts or the material expands and contracts, it cracks. Once it starts, those cracks spread fast.

Pavers are individual units with small gaps between them. They can flex and move slightly without cracking. If one paver does crack—rare, but it happens—you replace that one piece. With concrete, you’re cutting out and replacing entire sections.

The key is proper base preparation. If the base isn’t compacted correctly, pavers will settle unevenly and you’ll get lippage or separation. That’s installer error, not a material problem. Done right, swimming pool deck pavers last decades in Florida without the cracking issues you see with concrete.

Maintenance is minimal if the pavers are sealed properly. Sweep off leaves and debris regularly. Rinse the deck with a hose when it gets dusty. That’s about it for weekly upkeep.

Every few years, you’ll want to reseal the pavers. Seal ‘n Lock typically lasts three to five years depending on sun exposure and pool chemical splash. Resealing prevents sand washout, keeps weeds from growing between pavers, and protects against staining.

If you ever notice sand washing out from between the pavers, that’s a sign the sealant is wearing down. Address it before weeds take root or pavers start shifting. We can reseal your pool deck pavers in The Villages when it’s time, or you can do it yourself if you’re comfortable with the process.

Sometimes, but it’s not always the best approach. If your existing concrete is in good shape—no major cracks, level, drains properly—we can install pavers over it as an overlay. This saves on demolition and excavation costs.

If the concrete is cracked, uneven, or has drainage problems, an overlay won’t fix those issues. You’ll just be covering up problems that will show through later. In those cases, it’s better to remove the old concrete and start fresh with proper base preparation.

We’ll assess your current pool deck and tell you honestly whether an overlay makes sense or whether you’re better off with full removal and reinstall. The goal is a pool deck that lasts 25-plus years, not a quick fix that fails in three.
